ECU Error Clear DOES NOT COLLECT, STORE, or SEND any personal user data.
We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, location data, or any other personally identifiable information.
Vehicle Diagnostics Data
The application reads and processes diagnostic trouble codes from your vehicle's electronic control unit (ECU) via the OBD2 protocol.
Data Processing
Important: All diagnostic data is processed locally on your device and is never transmitted to servers or third parties.
Specific Features
- Reads OBD2 diagnostic trouble codes from the ECU
- Automatically clears specific catalyst trouble codes (P0420, P0430) when safe to do so
- Implements safety checks to prevent clearing critical error codes
- Processes all data locally without an internet connection
Internet Connectivity & Licensing
This verification happens securely in the background using the Google Play Licensing service and does not transmit any vehicle or personal data.
Local Storage
The application stores the following data locally only on your device:
- Diagnostic code clearing history and timestamps
- Application settings (check intervals, log preferences)
- Technical logs for debugging
- Vehicle diagnostic session data
This data remains only on your device and can be fully deleted by uninstalling the application.
Battery Optimization
The app works in the background and uses system time for time stamping, so the application's battery consumption is very minimal.
Without this setting, some devices may restrict background activity, which could interrupt automatic error scanning.
Third-Party Services
We do not integrate or use any third-party services that collect user data, including:
- Analytics platforms (Google Analytics, Firebase, etc.)
- Advertising networks
- Social media integrations
- Cloud storage services
- User tracking systems
Security and Limitations
The application includes built-in safety features:
- Automatically disables all clearing if any trouble code other than P0420 or P0430 is detected.
- Never clears critical engine, brake, safety, or other system trouble codes.
- The code clearing operation is completely blocked and terminated if other codes are present.

ECU Error Clear is a diagnostic tool intended for informational and convenience purposes only. It is not a substitute for professional mechanical diagnosis, repair, or maintenance.
By using this application, you acknowledge, understand, and agree to the following:
- No Warranty & "As Is": The application and its functions are provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties of any kind, either expressed or implied, including but not limited to warranties of accuracy, reliability, merchantability, or fitness for a particular purpose.
- User Responsibility & Assumption of Risk: You, the user, are solely and entirely responsible for any and all consequences resulting from the use of this application on your vehicle. This includes, but is not limited to:
- The legal and regulatory compliance of your vehicle (e.g., emissions standards, inspection requirements).
- The technical condition and safety of your vehicle.
- Any impact on vehicle performance, emissions, fuel economy, or subsequent component failure.
- Clearing a trouble code does not repair the underlying fault. A code P0420/P0430 indicates an efficiency problem with the catalytic converter. Using this app only resets the monitoring system; it does not fix the mechanical or chemical issue causing the fault.
- Limitation of Liability: To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the developer (Catalyst Fix Pro), its affiliates, and its personnel shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, arising out of or related to your use or inability to use the application, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
- Legal Compliance: It is your responsibility to ensure that the use of this application complies with all applicable local, state, national, and international laws, regulations, and ordinances, including those related to vehicle emissions, inspections, and tampering with emission control systems.
Children's Privacy
Our application is not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 18. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at catalystfixpro@gmail.com so we can promptly delete such information.
By using this application, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old and have the legal authority and understanding to operate vehicle diagnostic tools.
